The. Back to School Blues

Tomorrow I begin college again, taking 12 credit hours at Indiana University of South Bend.  I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to finish my bachelor's degree at 37 years of age.  My wife is fully supportive of me and is advancing quickly in her career.

In the three and a half months of being a stay at home dad, I wrote 7 articles for the web, almost finished renovating the bathroom and unfortunately worked sparingly on my novel.  The house is always clean, dinner is always made...but I just never invested myself into the work of writing and that's unfortunate.  I have high hopes for school and how it will stir my intellect, but I also know that over the next 5 months that no work will happen on The Long Wait.

I have been reading bits and pieces of two of my favorite books recently: Infinite Jest and Gravity's Rainbow in hopes of inspiration, but I only find joy in how damn good Wallace and Pynchon are.

Anyway, hopefully for the three of you who may read this I will be posting more often. Mahalo
